Future is a fight
The future is not much different from the present or the past. The future is a fight. A fight against greed, bigotry, ignorance.
Growing up in Ukraine, I witnessed firsthand the weight of russian imperialism. Later, in Canada, I learned about other battles—different voices, different stories, but the same urgent need to resist. Across continents and generations, this fight repeats itself, translated into new languages, carried by new bodies.
Today, many fear the future. It seems hopeless. But has it ever been any different? It’s easy to dream of better times when the violence was happening elsewhere. But the threat never truly vanished—it only changed form.
This work confronts that fear. It honors resistance as a choice, an action, a celebration. To fight is to exist. To resist is to declare: I am still here. I will not disappear. I will not be silent.
